Van Dyke Jones

Van Dyke Jones

(1953 - )

Van Dyke Jones' paintings combine layer-upon-layer of prismacolor and acrylic paint on canvas. They have a power, simplicity and richness of color with a technically classical look.

In direct contrast to Jones' paintings is the contemporary caricature form used for Rex and his environment. The symbolism contained in the book comments on the plight of modern man and society. Illuminated with humor and tinged with angst, through Rex's comfortable form, the artist chronicles and examines the nature of modern man.
