Mark Kluck is a contemporary New Mexican folk art artist who shapes seasoned blocks of Engle-mann spruce and Douglas fir into Native American Indians, animals, whirligigs, pickup trucks and other items. Galleries in Santa Fe and Texas sell his work to private collections almost before it arrives. Kluck uses the paintings of Karl Bodmer, an artist who predated the legendary George Catlin, as research for creating his Native Americans.
