frottage & collage art
In terms of materials the starting point for my pictures are magazines. The print is liftet bottom-up from the original magazine and rubbed or rolled onto the paper that will comprise the future artwork. This produces collages with a distorted mirror effect which enables them, unlike conventional collages made up of glued materials, to engage playfully with the possibilities of semi-transparency. The material has already been printed many thousand times over and many people have seen it - yet something entirely new has been created from it.
